Medica organised an awareness walkathon that started from Deshapriyo Park and ended at Nazrul Manch, Kolkata on 26th Nov, 2022.

Medica Oncology a Walkathon on the eve of National Cancer Awareness Day to show support & spread awareness against cancer. This year, our theme was Palliative Care. Under the guidance of Dr Subir Ganguly, Radiation Oncologist, we are also launching Home-based Palliative Care. We were joined by Medica Hospitals’ Chairman, Dr Alok Roy, along with special guests, Mr Chandan Sen, Mr Kalyan Sen Barat, Mr Anupam Roy & Mr Shiboprosad Mukherjee all participated in the walkathon to show support to our cause.

Medica organised an event to launch our Bladder Cancer Support Group. Dr Abhay Kumar, Head & Senior Consultant, Urology & Robotic Surgery addressed the presence of bladder cancer survivors and asked them to take the stage and share their experiences with the rest.

Medica Oncologist helps save 70-year-old with Bilateral Pleural Effusion

A 70 yeal-old woman suffering from Bilateral Pleural Effusion was admitted to Medica on June 17th, 2022. Her condition was critical but Dr Gunjesh Kumar, Consultant Oncologist along with Cardiac expert Dr Sunil Kumar and Pulmonologist Dr Yogesh Jain together worked for her recovery and cured her of her disease and breathing complications successfully.

Doctors in Kolkata perform the first of its kind skull-based endoscopic surgery, endoscopic trans cribriform resection on a 40-year-old farmer hailing from Murshidabad. He was diagnosed with a rare but malignant tumor called esthesioneuroblastoma. The procedure was successful and the patient was soon discharged.

Dr Arunava Roy, Senior Consultant & Head- Gynecologic Oncology & Women Cancer Initiative, and 5 more riders travelled all the way to Leh and Ladakh to spread the message of cancer awareness & prevention. With a common passion for riding, the team from Friends on Wheels – a unit of Bengal Moto Wheel, has been taking bike trips to various destinations on different occations.
